What your going to do is get yourself some adhesive business card magnets, a pair of scissors, and some colored paper. You can find the business card magnets at most stationary stores at the checkout line, you might get your paper there too, I've used tag board, but that's what was around, regular paper should also work.
Your scissors are going to need to be able to cut through the magnet and paper, so some nice heavy metal ones are probably your best bet. Fortunately, you're only cutting straight lines, so agility isn't much of a factor.
Now print out a couple of the sheets listed on the bottom (Make sure your not in "Fit to page" mode), and then cut out the business card sized rectangles. Just cut out the outline, not the smaller triangles and squares and such.
Then you peel the protective cover off the magnet, so that the sticky part is uncovered, and carefully align the rectangle so that it's flush on the magnet. Now you cut out the sub-polygons into their shapes. Then you fling them across the room so that they land on the fridge at stick (hopefully). After you've got a sufficient quantity of the various types, now you arrange them into various tessellations, yay!!!!!
New, more aesthetically pleasing methodology.
What you'll need is some metallic gift wrap, choose colors you like, and some 8.5x11 labels.
Now what you do is you print out the magnet stencils from the PDF file onto on the labels. Cut the business card sized rectangles out, then remove the backing, so that the sticky part is revealed, now you align and lay the stencil out onto the white adhesive cover of the magnet. Then cut out whatever sub shapes you want and lay them aside. Now cut out an appropriately sized piece of wrapping paper that isn't too wrinkled up, and lay it color side down on your table. Now get your magnet and peel off both the stencil, and the backing of the magnet, so that the sticky part of your magnet is now revealed. Lay the sticky side of the magnet down onto the back of the wrapping paper. Pick it up and smooth the paper out, and the "roll" the edges, so that it's firmly sticking to the edges, as well as in the middle. Then trim off the excess wrapping paper, and viola! Nice, shiny, cleanable with a damp washcloth, subtiles. A Graphical representation of the instructions.
Note: Assembly should not be done by a child who may hurt themselves with the scissors, and due to small parts, the user should be aware that small children may stick these in there mouth, which would be a bad thing. So use common sense, and have fun!
